George W. Shober and Fred Shober testify to the date of Nathan's death, and that George W. Shober washed and laid Nathan out for burial, and Fred saw the funeral procession pass by on the way to the cemetery.

STATE OF OHIO, Seneca COUNTY, SS:

On this twenty fifth day of April, A.D., One Thousand Eight Hundred and fifty five, personally appeared before me, a justice of the Peace within and for the County and State aforesaid Nathan Kimble aged Sixty years, a resident of Seneca County in the State of Ohio, who, being duly sworn according to law, declares that he is the identical Nathan Kimble who was Private in the company commanded by Captain William [sic] Kelsey in the first regiment of New York Militia commanded by Lt. Col. Major Adams in the war with Great Britain, declared by the United States, on the 18th day of June, 1812.

 

That he enlisted at Genesee County, NY on or about the 15th day of June A.D., 1813 or 1814 for the term of three months and continued in actual service in said war for the term of three months and was honorably discharged at Black Rock, N.Y. on or about the 15th day of September A.D. 1813 or A.D. 1814.

He makes this declaration for the purpose of obtaining the bounty land to which he may be entitled under the act approved March 3rd, 1855. He also declares that he has not received a warrant for bounty land under this or any other act of Congress, nor made any other application therefore.

We, Fredk Singer and Alex Campbell, residents of Seneca County in the State of Ohio, upon our oaths, declare that the foregoing declarations were signed and acknowledged by Nathan Kimble in our presence, and that we believe, from the appearance and statement of the applicant, that he is the identical person he represents himself to be.

The foregoing declaration and affidavit were sworn to and subscribed before me on the day and year above written, and I certify that I know the affiants to be credible persons; that the claimant is the person he represents himself to be, and that I have no interest in this claim.

STATE OF OHIO, Seneca COUNTY, SS:

On this twenty fifth day of April, A.D., One Thousand Eight Hundred and fifty five, personally appeared before me, a justice of the Peace within and for the County and State aforesaid Nathan Kimble aged Sixty years, a resident of Seneca County in the State of Ohio, who, being duly sworn according to law, declares that he is the identical Nathan Kimble who was Private in the company commanded by Captain Elias Streeter in the regiment of New York Volunteers commanded by General Peter B. Porter in the war with Great Britain, declared by the United States, on the 18th day of June, 1812.

 

That he volunteered at Genesee County, NY on or about the last of November or first of December A.D 1813 or 1814 for the term for the campaign of Buffalo & was present at the scene of the burning of Buffalo and continued in actual service in said war for the term of four or five weeks and was honorably discharged at Genesee County, NY on or about the first January A.D. 1814 or A.D. 1815.

He makes this declaration for the purpose of obtaining the bounty land to which he may be entitled under the act approved March 3rd, 1855. He also declares that he has not received a warrant for bounty land under this or any other act of Congress, nor made any other application therefore.
