Benjamin enlisted, 6 Aug 1861, in 49th Regiment, Co. D ("A & D"), Ohio.
Wounded at Chickamauga, Georgia, 19 Sept 1863, bullets to left arm and right shoulder.
discharged 5 Sept 1864, Chattanooga, TN.
Lydia's sister= Aurilla A. Wells of 228 Vasula Ave., South Bend, Indiana (31 May 1907).
Benjamin's property at time of death consisted of a small house and about 1/2 acre of land at
the corner of George and Mason streets in the village of Decatur, MI, for which he paid $300.
